Summer 2015 update

August 26, 2015 – 10:24 am

It’s been an eventful summer for the Friends of Historic Riverside Cemetery!

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been invited to begin working at Riverside and have nearly completed our first project – repainting the walls outside of the cemetery office.  It’s been a lot of work but has made quite an improvement!

Our summer board meeting was a success and we’ve made some great plans and goals for the coming year.  These goals include:

  • Restarting the Doc-A-Block project at Riverside
  • Continuing projects to beautify Riverside
  • Creating a Friends of Historic Riverside Cemetery Facebook page to connect with interested people and similar groups
  • Monitoring progress of the RTD north light rail line and its impacts on Riverside

We’d also like to pass on a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Judy and Tom Kingsolver for becoming members of the Friends of Historic Riverside Cemetery!  We appreciate your support – Welcome!

Our next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 14th at 7:00 PM in the TAXI II conference room.  Feel free to attend!  You may find directions to the meeting by clicking here.

Riverside Work Day and Annual Board Meeting

June 10, 2015 – 11:04 am

We are delighted to announce that Fairmount Cemetery Company, owners of Riverside Cemetery, are now welcoming the assistance of the Friends of Historic Riverside Cemetery in their efforts to maintain and spruce up the cemetery!

Our first Friends of Riverside work day will take place on Sunday, June 28th from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery.  We welcome anyone who would like to pitch in!  We will be painting and weeding during this work day, so dress for the weather; hats, gloves and sunscreen are recommended.  We will have cold water and snacks for volunteers.  A kneeling pad would be good if you have one, as we will be painting the planter in front of the office.

If you have questions or if you would like to RSVP for the work day please email friends@friendsofriversidecemetery.org.

In addition, we welcome you to attend the 2015 Friends of Historic Riverside Cemetery annual board and members meeting.  The meeting is open to anyone who is interested in what the organization is about, what we are doing and what our future plans are.  This year will be having the meeting on Saturday, July 25th at 11:00 AM in the TAXI II Conference room.  The TAXI II building is located at 3457 Ringsby Court in Denver.  Click here for a map to the TAXI location.

If you have questions or would like to RSVP for the annual meeting please email friends@friendsofriversidecemetery.org

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you!
